Benefits of Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. New research finds that increasing fruit and vegetables consumption may improve psychological well-being in as little as 2 weeks. Adults who consume an additional 2 servings of fruits and vegetables per day (on top of the recommends 2 servings of fruits and vegetables per day), were found to have improved vitality and motivation after a 2 week period.
A healthy adult should aim to consume around 2 servings of fruits and around 2-3 servings of vegetables daily. One serving of fruits is equivalent to a large orange or one large banana. One serving of vegetables is equivalent to 150grams of raw leafy vegetables or 100gams of cooked leafy vegetables. Given the multiple healthy effects of fruits and vegetables, there is no better time than now to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables!
