Ultherapy or Lasers?

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment cleared by the FDA to lift and tighten loose skin. It uses ultrasound imaging which allows practitioners to target different layers of tissue with much precision, ensuring the energy is deposited to where it will be most beneficial. No creams, fillers or toxins are involved in this procedure.

Lifts Face, Neck, and Decolletage

The treatment uses the body’s own collagen-building process for natural, noticeable results. It gently and gradually lift skin on the eyebrow, under the chin (double chin) and on the neck, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the chest/ décolletage. It is also effective for contouring and shaping of the face. Ultherapy ultrasound stimulates collagen production and treats the skin’s deep foundation layer, resulting in a clinically significant lift of tissue over 2-3 months. With Ultherapy, there is no downtime. After your procedure, you can resume your normal activities immediately without any specific post-care procedures.

Why Choose Ultherapy or Lasers?

The major differences between Ultherapy and lasers is what they actually treat and the technology used.

Ultherapy uses sound energy to bypass the surface of the skin to treat depths not matched by any other non-invasive cosmetic device. Since it focuses on the deeper layers of the skin, Ultherapy does not do much on the external appearance of the skin e.g. pigmentation and pores.

Whereas lasers use light energy, which cannot reach deeper skin layers at an optimal temperature. Laser treatments are typically used to treat superficial skin. It can make pores look smaller, reduce pigmentations and veins, and minimize scars.

Both treatments can have positive effect on wrinkles.

However, these two technologies are very compatible and suitable to go hand in hand to target different skin issues.

When will I see Results?

After your Ultherapy® Treatment, you may see some initial effect, but the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months, as your body naturally regenerates collagen. Many patients see very long-lasting results. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, and individual’s collagen-building process, some patients may need additional treatments to have better results. Future maintenance treatments can also help patients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.
