How do I get rid of spider veins on my face?

Facial spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are small dilated blood vessels that can appear on the face. While they are usually harmless, they can be unsightly and affect a person’s self-esteem. Fortunately, there are several treatment options available to help reduce the appearance of facial spider veins. In this article, we will discuss the different treatments available at Healthsprings.

  1. Pro Yellow Laser

Pro Yellow Laser uses a wavelength 577nm that targets the blood vessels. The laser energy is absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin in the blood vessels causing the blood vessels to shrink and eventually fade away. The treatment is non-invasive, with minimal downtime and is suitable for all skin types. Depending on the severity of the spider veins, multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.

  1. Long Pulse 1064nm Nd:YAG Laser

Long pulse 1064nm Nd:YAG laser penetrates 5-6mm deep into the skin without doing any damage to the skin surface. It targets the red, purple and violet pigmentation in the blood vessels of the skin, by delivering controlled laser energy to coagulate the blood vessels. The vascular feeding system is also targeted to ensure long term efficacy of the treatment. This laser treatment can be done with various laser machines as well.

  1. Broad Band Light (BBL)

BBL is similar to laser therapy in that it uses light energy to target and collapse the blood vessels. However, BBL has a broad spectrum of light instead of a single wavelength of light like laser. It comes with different filters that produce different wavelengths that treat different skin conditions. To treat facial spider veins with BBL, we use the filter of 590nm wavelength to treat vascular related skin conditions e.g. spider veins, facial erythema and Rosacea. This treatment is safe, non-invasive and typically does not require any downtime.

It is important to consult with a doctor to determine which treatment option is best for you, as each individual may have different factors that influence the selection of treatment. At Healthsprings, our experienced doctors will evaluate your condition and recommend the best treatment option for you.
